Badminton All-England Titles

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright! (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, March 22. Erland Kops today won the men’s singles title in the all-England badminton championship at Wembley by beating Finn Kobbero. 15-10, 8-15, 15-8, in an all-Danish final.

Miss Judy Devlin retained her women’s singles title when she beat Miss Margaret Varner, 11-7. 12-10 Both women are from the United States.

Kops became the first Dane to win the title since Jorn Skaarup. in 1948, and he broke the domination of Malayans, who have won the championship for the last eight years —four times each by Wong Peng Soon and Eddie Choong.
