Soviet Vessels Handed Over
(Rec. 9 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 22. Ten Soviet vessels bought by the Indonesian Government were turned over today in ceremonies aboard one of' the vessels at Tandjung Priok. Jakarta’s port, the American Associated Press reported. The transfer was the first step in an economic and technical cooperation programme with Russia. The rebel Interior Minister, Mr Dahlan Djambek, charged yesterday that the ships brought arms for the Jakarta Government when they arrived earlier this week. The Government has not commented on this. Soviet crews will help Indonesians navigate and maintain the vessels. They were purchased to help alleviate the shipping shortage which developed after ships of the Dutch-owned K.P.M line were seized last December and which, upon release yesterday, were banned from the republic.
