The four-year-old gelding Hard Aport is a popular fancy for the Tauranga Cup on the first day of the Bay of Plenty Racing Club’s autumn meeting tomorrow. He completed his training for the race in a very pleasing manner. field for the second leg, the Flying Handicap, looks open, but there is no doubt that four of the best-backed runners will be Taboo, Rebellious, Windermere and O’Flynn. In most cases the fields are Dig and of good* quality, and provision for two divisions has had to be made in the Jack Tannef Handicap, for two-year-olds, and the Novice Stakes. .During the last few days the weather had been favourable, and < as the fine spell looks likely to continue the going should be excellent.
