CASE AGAINST DUMPING
Mr Walsh MayGo To London
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 21.
If the president of the Federation of Labour (Mr F. P. Walsh) goes to London to reinforce New Zealand’s case against the dumping of butter in the United Kingdom, it is likely that he will go as a trade union leader and chairman of the war-time Aid to Britain campaign. Asked this evening to comment on a report that Mr Walsh had been invited by the Government to join personally in official representations to the . United Kingdom Government, the Act-ing-Prime Minister (Mr Skinner) said the question had not been considered. Mr'Skinner had no other comment to make.
It is believed, however, that the Government is receptive to the idea of Mr Walsh going to the United Kingdom. It is known that leading members of the Government think Mr Walsh’s published appeal to British trade unionists and to the British Labour Party to support New Zealand was both timely and well presented.
