Provincial Scout Rally

Nearly 6000 scouts will attend a provincial scout rally at the Addington Show Grounds next Saturday. As this is the last year of the three-year operation jubilee a large attendance from the public is expected. All the usual scouting activities will be held, including wall-scal-ing, which appears to be one of the favourite and most soughtafter activities. Scouts from the West Coast and Timaru will travel by special busds to arrive in time for the opening ceremony at 10 a.m., and will return home the same evening. Official guests will include the Mayor (Mr R. M. Macfarlane, M.P.) and Sir Joseph Ward, provincial commissioner of scouts in Canterbury.

Creditors' Meeting.—A creditors’ meeting held in Christchurch yesterday to consider the bankruptcy of Thomas Bernard Patrick Meyer lapsed because there was no quorum. Meyer was adjudged bankrupt on March 7, 1958.
