COMMERCIAL Market Active And Prices Firm
The Christchurch Stock Exchange was fairly active yesterday, with a good range of stocks traded. Government securities were quiet. Prices were mainly firmer.
Two'pa reels of Ainpol shares changed hands at 13s 7d, an advance of Id on most previous Christchurch business. Other stocks to firm included 8.H.P., G. J. Coles, New Zealand Forests, Woolworths, Woolworths (N.Z.), McKenzies and Whitcombes. Wright Stephenson, Andrews and Beaven preference, Colonial Sugar and the unlisted Kaiapoi were easier.
