MONEY STOLEN AT RANGIORA

Theft From Shop Safe Thieves stole a sum of money when they broke into the premises of R. Hannah and Company, Ltd., High street. Rangiora, during the week-end. The theft was detected oy the manager (Mr L. Seal) about 10.30 a.m. yesterday when he found a back window had been forced and the door blown right off the safe. Everything was in order at the shop when Mr Seal was there about 11 a.m. on Saturday. Two carpet runners from the floor of the shop were used by the thieves to deaden the sound from the explosion and a hole was blown through one of them. Detective-Sergeant T. Thompson, of the Christchurch C.ED. is in charge of the investigations.
