Encouragement To Buy Shares
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, March 13. Conservative Party leaders are considering plans to encourage small businessmen to buy shares quoted on the Stock Exchange. The object is to stimulate saving, provide more capital for industry, and give the public a direct interest in opposing Socialist plans for extending nationalisation by taking over the share capital of leading industrial concerns. It is believed that many people would like to invest small sums from £lO upwards but hesitate to do so because they have no knowledge of share buying procedure and fear ridicule of the small sums involved.
