WINTER FISHING IN RAKAIA

Information Sought By Society Information of fishing in the Rakaia river during the winter is to be sought by the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society. “We may be depriving anglers of good fishing,” said Mr R. B. Soanes, when the Council of the Society met last night. Authority to fish the Rakaia in May, June and July has been received from the Marine Department and the Society would permit 20 anglers to use the river this winter. Fish caught, according to length would be returned to the river or given to a hospital or orphanage.
