CIVIC WELCOME SUGGESTED Possible Visit By Sir Vivian Fuchs
If definite plans are announced from Wellington for a visit to Christchurch by Sir Vivian Fuchs, a move will be made to have the couple accorded a civic welcome, according to Mr H. F. Griffiths, president of the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Antarctic Society. No definite arrangements for the journey to Christchurch had yet been made, but if plans were announced this week he would make every endeavour to have Sir Vivian and Lady Fuchs honoured by the city, he said. Meantime, Mr Griffiths said, members of the society had offered to billet any members of the expedition who vjsited Christchurch.
