CRAIGNAIR IN FORM

Invercargill Meeting

"The Press” Special Service INVERCARGILL, November 28. The highlight of the racing on the second day of the Invercargill Trotting Club’s summer meeting tomorrow will be the clash between the first-day winners. Craignair, Charmante, and Frown, in the City Handicap. Frown and Craignair have to concede 36 yards to Charmante. and

in a big field much will depend on the run the backmarkers receive. Charmante was most impressive in winning over two miles last Saturday, and the backmarkers may be hard pressed if she secures a better run than she did last week.

Frown gave a similar field a start and won on the first day, and Craignair also won with a good deal in hand. Aquaplane, Queenson and Brawl are others in the field capable of taking part in the finish. The double will be on the Invercargill Handicap and the Autumn Handicap, for which Next Time and Robert Dillon will be a likely com*bination. Next Time’s consistency will be a factor in his favour, and op firmer ground he will be better suited than last week. A return to her best would give Twinkle Hall a good chance in a moderate field. There is’not much opposition for Robert Dillon in the Autumn Handicap for probationary drivers. The bracketed pair. Multi Bella and Durable, the early favourites for the Georgetown Handicap, have been withdrawn. This leaves the issue much more open, with Freeway, Justice and Sand Flight the most likely. Indications are for fine weather and a fast track. Selections:— 11 a.m. Wellesley Handicap: Stingray, Count Robert, Basha Felika. 11.45 a.m.—Georgetown Handicap: Freeway, Justice, Sand Flight. 12.30 p.m.—lnvercargill Handicap: Next Time, Twinkle Hall, Sir Timothy.
