FIRE AMONG RUINS

Outbreak At Gracefield

(New Zealana Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 28. Another fire flared up among the ruins of the gutted industrial area in Gracefleld, Lower Hutt, tonight. The nightwatchman at the ruined Southward Engineering Company’s building gave the alarm as a large stack of paper and debris in the heart of the fire-ravaged section blazed up fiercely. Three Are engines fought the blaze from 8.30 p.m. for more than half an hour. The blaze was confined to stacks of paper near what was once a Forestry Service store. The store was gutted in the industrial fire.

Although no reason for the fire has been found, firemen said that no suspicious circumstances were reported.
