OPAWA NIGHT MATCHES
The final of the inter-club night tennis competition for the Opawa Challenge Cup was played at the Opawa club’s flood-lit courts. In the final Opawa played last year’s wiriher. South Brighton, winning by one game. Results were (New Brighton names first):— Men’s Doubles.—V. Jones and AAtkinson beat S. Clarke and M. Nolden, 8-6. Women’s Doubles.—Mesdames P. Boatwood and A. Atkinson lost to Mesdames C. Jackson and B. Lee, 4-8. Mixed Doubles. —Jones and Mrs Boatwood beat Clarke and Mrs Lee, 9-3; Atkinson and Mrs Atkinson lost to Nolden and Mrs Jackson, 3-8.
Opawa won by 25 games to 24.
