Situation: A trough of low pressure is moving slowly eastward over central districts of New Zealand and an anticyclone lies over the western Tasman Sea. Forecast:— Canterbury: Moderate south or south-west winds; fresh in some exposed positions; weather cloudy with occasional rain . this morning and a few scattered showers later; temperatures moderate. Outlook: showers, clearing later. West Coast: Moderate winds from a southerly quarter; scattered rain at first, especially in the north, but weather clearing gradually; temperatures moderate. Outlook: fair. Nelson and Marlborough: Moderate northerlies at first, turning gradually to moderate southerlies; weather cloudy and mild, with occasional drizzle. Outlook: showers in coastal Marlborough but weather elsewhere clearing.
