NEW PLANES FOR T.E.A.L.
American Jet Aircraft Available (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 23. A Boeing aircraft technical party will come to Auckland next month on a visit believed to be aimed at selling the Boeing 717 to Tasman Empire Airways Ltd., to replace its present DCB’s. This Boeing, a smaller version of the 707 already sold to Qantas and other buyers, is considered to be a formidable rival to the Comet, Convair. and turbo-prop contenders for the T.E.A.L. order.
