Mr Reynaud’s Criticism
(Bee. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. XL Mr Paul Beynaud. a fanner French Prime Minister, today said that the Kapaekl plan for an atom-free sene in Central Europe would aggravate the risks of war by weakening America. In a letter published. In the “Daily Telegraph” Mr Reynaud said the plan put forward by Mr Rapacki, the Polish Foreign Minister, had received the consent of the Soviet Union. “It should be determined whether the Russians by thia diplomatic offensive are not trying to bring about a crack in the Atlantic Alliance,” wrote Mr Beynaud.
“By weakening America the Bapacki plan would aggravate the risks,-of . war.j- In any case Germany would feel entirely at the mercy of Soviet Bussia. “As she would not be given something for nothing.
