CITY COUNCIL PICNIC
The Christchurch City Council** . annual picnic was held at th* Halswell Domain yesterday. While skeleton staffs stood by essential services, more than 300 other council employees took advantage of yesterday’s high temperature and basked in th* sun. An unusual feature of this year’* picnic, wks a tug-of-war between a team of married women and a side consisting of girl* from the Public Library.
