Canterbury: Moderate north-easterlies near the coast but north-westerlies freshening inland; fair weather; warm temperatures. Outlook: rain Nelson and Marlborough: Light 'to moderate northwesterly winds freshening about Cook Strait; weather mainly fine, but cloud increasing late in the day; mild- to warm temperatures. Outlook: rain.
