New Zealand’s overseas reserves fell only £o.7m in the week ended January 1, 1958. On that date net overseas assets of the New Zealand banking system totalled £ 44.7 m, compared with £76.7m on January 2, 1957, and £62.6m on January 4, 1956. The decline of less than £lm in the latest weekly figure compares with an average weekly fall of £2.Bm during the six months ended December, 1957.
