BLUNT TO CAPTAIN N.Z. LONDON SIDE

(Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 10. Roger Blunt, the captain of the London New Zealand Cricket Club, is to captain its first XI against a New Zealand touring team at the Oval on April 17. It is hoped that other members will include T. L. Pritchard, R. Hitchcock (formerly of Warwickshire), and T. U. Wells, formerly of Oxford University. Blunt, who is now 57, first played for New Zealand nearly 40 years ago in 1919 and toured with a New Zealand side in England in 1927 and 1931. He has played fairly regularly for the club since it was founded in 1951, and has made a century for it. “It will be a great thrill to play against a touring side on the Oval," he said After the match it will give the touring side a dinner. The chib is to invite Mr Nash, the Prime to be an honorary •Vice-patron.
