ds.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, January 7. The chairman of the Committee of Management of the transAntarctic expedition, Sir John Slessor, said: “I think they (Dr. Fuchs’s team) will make It, and if there was any prospect of disaster we snould tell them to get out.
“But these are not the days of Captain Scott, when there was nothing but gallant hearts, flat feet and dogs.
“There are aircraft available, and in this matter the Americans are being very good. “Everybody knows there are hazards to be faced, but a lot of scientific work has already been done.”
