Successful Tour In South

The Canterbury cricket tea. which returned to Christchurc, after playing four matches I South Canterbury and Otago, hdi fair success. The team, captain® by P. G. Z. Harris, beat Germ dine and South Canterbury right, obtained a first innings over North Otago and lost the first innings to Sub-Associations at Milton in last game. B There were some noteworthy

performances by batsmen an bowlers. Perhaps the best was by G. N. Gearry who made 164 runs from four innings and took 11 wickets for 121 runs from 62 overs. B. A. Haworth was another who scored freely, making 139 from five innings as well as taking two wickets for no runs from two overs.

The most successful bowler on the tour was the leg spinner W Bell, who from 54.4 overs took 17 wickets for 133 runs. D. J. Reid, with 14 wickets conceded only 86 runs from 73.2 overs to give him the best bowling average of 67. The following secured the best
