N.Z. Man Knighted In U.K.

(NJZ. Press Association—Copyright! (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, January 2. Major Sir Defield Harston, who was knighted in the New Year honours, is a former New Zealander. He was born at Thames in 1891. He came to London in 1931 and represented the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association on the Empire council of the British Fmpire Services League. Sir Defield Harston, who is a solicitor, is honorary secretary to the league.
