ENGLISH WOMEN END TOUR

Drawn Match At Aucklarid (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 2. The tour of New Zealand by the English women cricketers finished today with a drawn match with the 1954 New Zealand team. Replying to England’s first-day score of 227 for seven wickets declared, New Zealand scored 210 for nine declared. This left a fine afternoon today for an attempt by each team to score an outright win. England, materially helped by those fine bats, C Robinson and M. Duggan, declared at 112 for three. In the hour left for play New Zealand made 99 for six wickets and still wanted 31 runs for victory. Miss N. Rheinberg, the manager of the English team, was enlisted in the New Zealand side as twelfth man and fielded for most of the day. She seemed delighted with the match, the tour and the possibilities of success against Australia, for which the team will leave by ship tomorrow. Scores:— ENGLAND
