KUROW CUP
Strong Bracket Favoured The Invercargill stablemates, Pilot Light and Montrose, will form a strong teacket in the Kurow Cup, principal event and first leg of the double at the Kurow Jockey Club's annual meeting tomorrow. Both failed in their respective races, the Invercargill Gold Cup and the Waihopai Handicap, at the Southland meeting yesterday, but they will find the class here considerably weaker. However, they also have alternative engagements on the second day of the Southland fixture and in their absence favouritism may be disputed by Grey Light and Royal Halyard. Come On Boy, a decisive winner at Oamaru yesterday, is the likely favourite for the second leg of the double, the Hakataramea Handicap. His strongest opponents may be Marcoette, a strong finisher for fourth at Oamaru, and Helm. Riding engagements include:— W. D. Skelton: Grey Light, Compensate, Super View, Ocean Melody. T. W.
