Athletics Scott Fails To Establish N.Z. 800-Metre Record
(Neu’ Zealand Press Association} AUCKLAND. December 10. N. I. Scott, the 1500 metres New Zealand record-holder, tailed by o.7sec to reach the New Zealand standard time of Imin 52sec for 800 metres at the Ellerslie Amateur Athletic Club’s floodlight meeting last night. As there is no recognised record for 800 metres, the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association has set Imin 52sec as the standard to be recognised as a New Zealand record for this event. Scott found the breeze too strong. M. L. Rae. the national sprint champion and )fc)lympic representative, clocked D.Ssec for the 100 yards.
