Fined £20 For Assault
(New Zealand Press Association/ AUCKLAND, Dec. 10. Denis Burgan, aged 33, an engine-driver, was fined £2O when he appeared before Mr F. McCarthy, S.M., in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court, today, for sentence on a charge of assault. It had at first seemed that Burgan had picked up and thrown a cash register at a cafe manageress, said the Magistrate, but apparently he had pushed at the cash register in anger and there seemed no intent to injure, although the consequences could have been serious.
