INJURY FROM ATOMIC RAYS

Proof By Tests At Harwell (Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON, December 9. Atom rays definitely cause injuries which are passed on from generation to generation in mammals. according to the “Daily Express” science reporter today. This was proved by tests carried out by the British Medical Council. Experiments at the Harwell atomic station with mice had shown that these injuries could cause some of the descendants to be stillborn.

Other apparently healthy descendants could carry the injuries in dormant form which shows up suddenly in future generations. The experiments are part of a long-term inquiry to assess the dangers of fall-out from nuclear explosions and of the possible escape of radioactive dust from atom factories.
