Tekapo Mess Hall

A new mess hall, to replace rhe building destroyed by fire two weeks ago, is nearly complete at the Tekapo Military Camp. It is an iron-roof weatherboard building taken from a dismantled dormitory block at Godley Head and carried south to Balmoral by truck.

The building will be opened tomorrow night—complete with hot water, linoleum, and refrigerator. It will be used for kitchens, pantries, and washing facilities as well as the men’s and officers’ mess rooms.

Construction has been under the command of Lieutenant E. A. Rogers.
