Parking Ban May Be Imposed

(New Zfalana Press Association) DUNEDIN. December 3 A ban on parking heavy trade vehicles in the main city streets in the late afternoon may soon be imposed by the Dunedin City Council. The ban would apply to all vehicles with a gross weight, including the load, of two tons or more, and it would be imposed between 4 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. on Mondays. Tuesdays. Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and between 1.45 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Fridays and other late shopping nights. The chairman of the City Council’s general committee ’Cr. N. D. Anderson) said that such a ban. discussed by the committee, met with general approval. However, the committee would seek opinions from interested bodies, such as carriers, drivers, and retailers.
