CLAIM OVER HIRE OF SUIT
Trousers Produced As Exhibit
A pair of grey trousers, with the cuffs torn and ragged, and a large hole in the seat, was produced as an exhibit in a civil claim in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. E. J. Donnithorne, Ltd., the plaintiff, claimed that the trousers were part of a suit which A. Easterbrook had hired for two days, kept for two months, and returned in a worthless condition.
Judgment for £25, the value of the suit, was given against Easterbrook, a farm labourer. Mr B. A. Barrer, for the plaintiff, said that Easterbrook hired the suit on July 20, 1956. It was not returned until September 18. 1956.
Evidence was given by Edward James Donnithorne, managing director of the plaintiff company. He said the suit was worthless when Easterbrook returned it The claim was not defended.
