Four-Unit Blocks At Kaiapoi Two four-unit blocks of pensioners’ flats will be erected by the Kaiapoi Borough Council on the site of Cam street, a closed road recently acquired by the borough. The site is between Raven street and Hilton street and is of nearly an acre in area. i Handy to the Main North road, and the Kaiapoi shopping centre. | the block will be used for the housing of aged persons from the borough and surrounding districts.' The Kaiapoi Town Clerk (Mr I. J. Corich) said yesterday that it would be the first pensioners’! settlement in Kaiapoi and was' being assisted by Governmentj subsidy. The flats were for two persons in each and would be occupied by! married couples or two single 1 pensioners together. The council! was considering a further site for] the provision of single' pensioner, accommodation, he said.
