TELEPHONE CABLE FOR LAYING UNDER LYTTELTON HARBOUR.—This coil of submarine cable, which will provide Diamond Harbour with direct telephonic communication with Lyttelton and Christchurch, was loaded on board the small motor-vessel Motu at Lyttelton last evening. The cable will be laid this morning from Magazine Bay, on the Lyttelton side of the harbour, to Church Bay, on the Diamond Harbour side.
