Chinese Champion Sets World Record
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 17. Cheng Fen-young, the Chinese champion, today beat the world high jump record for women with a jump of sft 9Vzin in Peking according to a New China Agency report. The record of sft 9Jin, was set by Mildred McDaniel, of the United States, at the Melbourne Olympic Games last December. The 20-year-old Chinese champion broke the record during a meeting at the Peking Stadium.
