OUTSTANDING HORSEWOMAN

Timaru Rider’s Success

Mrs E. J. Richards (Timaru) was the outstanding horsewoman in jumping events at the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association's show yesterday. With her horse, Revelanta, Mrs Richards won the Perfection Challenge Cup for the champion hunter, and was placed first in the open hunters’ competition and the ladies’ hunter event yesterday. They also won the lightweight hunters’ competition, held on the first day.

The judge (Mr R. Hansen. Gisborne) awarded Mrs Richards the J. H. Muirhead Challenge Trophy for the best woman rider in hunting events. Last year. Revelanta won the ribbon for the champion hunter and was placed first in the open and ladies’ hunter events and in the wire jumping contest. Mrs Richards, who was Miss Donalda Grant before her marriage, has been competing in shows since she was a child in pony classes.
