WALLABIES LOSE TO CAMBRIDGE

(N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) CAMBRIDGE, November 13. Cambridge University today decisively beat the Australian Wallabies, 13-3, in the third match of Australia’s tour. The Wallabies, who trailed for most of the game, were badly outplayed. Cambridge was too fast and too clever for the Wallabies. There was some tough play and the Australians were hooted after several rough incidents. Scorers were:—Cambridge: J. Horrocks-Taylor, P. Copus, tries; B. Loveday a penalty goal and two goals. Australia: D. Connor, one try. The manager of the Australian team (Mr T. McClenaughan) said that the Wallabies would need another two or three matches before they could hope to strike top form. “We have played Oxford and Cambridge too early in our tour and have not been advanced enough to hold them,” he added.

Late tackles by the Australian captain, R. Davidson, and his fellow front-row prop, G. Vaughan, brought warnings from the referee. Mr L. M. Boundy, recognised as England’s leading referee.
