Deaf School Team To Leave Today
The School for the Deaf girls’ marching team left Christchurch by air yesterday afternoon to begin its tour of. Australia. The tour has been made possible by those who subscribed to the public appeal. A farewell function was held at the school at Sumner. Several marching officials, the team’s instructor, Mr B. Hogue, his wife, and the principal of the school (Mr H. Pickering) were among those present. Mr Pickering said that he and the school were very grateful for the public response to the appeal. Mr and Mrs Hogue will travel with the team on its tour.
