The last ol the United States Davis Cup squad was eliminated from the New South Wales tennis championships at the White City yesterday when Australia s Roy Emerson and Robert Howe beat Vic Seixas' and R. Holmberg in a quarter-final. In a semi-final. Emerson and Howe were later beaten by the likely Australian Davis Cup pair, Mervyn Rose and Mai Anderson. The final will be played tomorrow.

Results were:— Men’s doubles, quarter-finals: R. Howe and R. Emerson beat V. Seixas and R. Holmberg (United States! 6-3. 6-3, 10-12, 3-6, 6-3; R- Mark and P. Newman beat W. Woodcock and N. Gibson 6-2. 7-5, 2-6. 11-9. Men’s doubles, semi-finals: M. Andersen and M. Rose beat R. Emerson and R, Howe 8-6, 12-10, 6-4. Women’s singles, quarterfinals: Miss A. Mortimer (Britain) beat Miss B. Jones 6-2. 6-2; Mrs K. Hawton beat Mrs B. Collier 3-6. 6-4, 7-5; Miss L. Coghlan beat Miss M. Hellyer 6-4. 6-2; Miss P. I Parmenter beat Miss M. Carter 11-6, 8-6. 6-3. I Men’s singles, semi-finals: N. Fraser beat M. Anderson 6-3, 3-6, 16-4. 6-4. Rose forfeited his semiI final to A. Cooper when he withdrew at the last minute with a cold.
