The large classes were average, but the smaller pigs only fair. It was a general fault that the animals were not carrying enough condition, according to the judge. Mr Gannon.
The champion sow, entered by Mr G. Beal, was a particularly well-proportioned animal. and fully deserved its award, said Mr Gannon. The pig, Cottle Park Marigold, was also awarded the L. T. Wright Memorial Cup for the best exhibited in the section. The pig was in the Christchurch show for the sixth time, and on two previous occasions it has won the Berkshire section. In all. it has won more than 30 awards at agricultural shows.
