STATE ASSISTANCE FOR INDUSTRY

(New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. Nov. 14. What form would any Government assistance take when the Dairy Industry Reserve Account was exhausted, Mr D. M. Musker. of Uruti. asked the acting chairman of the Dairy Board (Mr A. Hayward) at Stratford today. Would it be a bank advance or a straight-out subsidy? “Under the provisions of the recent legislation,” said Mr Hayward, “any Government assistance will be in the form of an advance. But I ll put it to you, will it ever be paid back?” Laughter was his only answer.
