SEAMEN LEFT BEHIND BY ORION
British Union’s Report To N.Z. Representative (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 13.
The three men left in New Zealand by the Orient liner Orion had all been dealt with satisfactorily by the company, said a letter from the British National Union of Seamen, received by its Wellington representative (Mr R. Granville) today. The men, who rejoined the Orion in Adelaide after being left in Auckland, had been' paid for part of the time they were absent from the ship in Australia. All other points had been satisfactorily cleared up, and two of the men had signed articles in the Orion for a return voyage, the letter said.
The third could have signed had he desired, but had recently married and wanted time at home, said the letter.
