Earning Rate Maintain (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. November 13.
Claude Neon Lights of New Zealand, Ltd., Auckland, earned a nel profit of £26,951 in the 11 months to August 31, compared with record net earnings of £27,827 in the year to September 30, 1956. The balance-date was advanced by one month in the last year The latest profit is equal to an earning rate of 10.1 per cent, per annum on shareholders’ funds compared with 10.5 per cent, on lesser funds last year. It was reached after tax provision of £28,150 (an increase of £1134) and depreciation of £5202 (a decrease of £3543). Dividend has been maintained at 10 per cent, for the tenth year in succession, requiring £12,000. The sum of £19,574 (£20.000 in 1956) has been transferred from accumulated profits to general reserve which, since the separation of the share premium reserve of £19,574, now stands at £lOO,OOO. The dividend and reserve appropriations exceed the net profit by £4623. and after adding a profit of £96 on the sale of property and deducting short-pro-vided tax of £22, the amount carried forward is reduced from £25.318 to £20.769.
The final dividend of 6 per cent is payable on November 29. Share become ex dividend on Novembe
