COMMERCIAL Prices Variable In Active Market

Price movements were variable in an active market on the Christchurch Stock Exchange. Although only one call was held, turnover, spread over many issues, was above average.

Ratlins Breweries, Broken Hill Proprietary and oolworths (N.Z.) sold at higher prices than in previous Christchurch business. One parcel of Fletcher Holdings sold at 28s 9d and another sold at 28s 6d unaltered.

Wright Stephensons, Amalgamated Wireless and Waltons contributing were easier.
