WOOLSTON FIRE STATION

Second-in-Command Appointed

The action of the Chief Fire Officer (Mr L. R. Osmond) in appointing Senior-Fireman R. Nichol as second-in-command at the Woolston fire station was approved by the Christchurch Fire Board on the executive's recommendation.

“I shall probably take the matter further,” said Mr A. B. Grant.

At a previous meeting of the board Mr Grant objected to the appointment being made by Mr Osmond, and advanced the claims of another senior-fireman. The board authorised its executive to hear the dispute between Mr Osmond and Mr Grant.
