Events Of Next Three Days
The programme for the 95th; show of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association: Today (Judging Day) 8 a.m.: Dog trial begins on trotting ground. 9 a.m.: Cattle, wool and pig judging commences. 10 a.m.: Judging of sheep, dairy produce, honey, baking and preserves, trotters and pacers. 1 p.m.: Judging of poultry. 2 p.m.: Open six bar event. 3 p.m.: Maiden hunter followed by light-weight hunter and heavy-weight hunter. Tomorrow (Farmers’ Day) 9 a.m.: Judging of goats. 9.30 a.m.: Children’s calf judging begins. 9 a.m.: Harness ponies. 9 a.m.: Harness horses. 9 a.m.: Saddle ponies and cobs (led classes). 10 a.m.: Clydesdales. 1 p.m.: Cattle parade in the ring. 9.30 a.m.: Nydfa Cup, Nydfa Memorial C>ip, and Branston Cup. 2 p.m. and thereafter: Pony jumping, pony F.E.I. jump, open “hit and hurry” competition, open F.E.I. jump. Friday (People’s Day) 9 a.m.: Saddle horses judged. 9 a.m.: Saddle ponies and cobs (ridden). 9 a.m.: Boy and girl riders. 9 a.m.: Thoroughbred horses. Midday: Action classes. 1 p.m.: Final of sheep dog trial. 1.40 p.m.: Grand parade. 2.40 p.m.: and thereafter: Best wire jumper, open hunter, Lady's hunter and Renown challenge cup.
