RHODESIA HAS TO FOLLOW ON

Australia Well Placed

(Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) (Rec. 9 p.m.) BULAWAYO, Nov. 2. After being dismissed for 126 and forced to follow on, 166 behind Australia’s first innings of 292, Rhodesia was three for 33 in its second innings at stumps at the end of the second day’s play, and facing outright defeat with one day’s play remaining. it might have been an even worse position had Jarman caught Ward off Benaud, and had Simpson held his catch at first slip which Ward gave him off Benaud.

It was Davidson, with five for 36 in Rhodesia’s first innings, who paved the way to probable victory, and also started the rot in the second innings when he dismissed opener Hitzeroth without a run on the board. Lewis had one and Ward 19 at stumps. Scores were:—
