Jets Try To Solve Sky Mystery

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) JOHANNESBURG, Nov. 1. Sabre jet trainers and Air Force radar failed today to solve the hovering in the sky high over Johannesburg. The Sabres climbed to their ceiling of 45,000 ft, but were unable to make contact with the objects, and observers on the ground said they were still far below them. A radar search also failed to identify the objects, one of which appeared to be disc-shaped and to reflect the sun’s rays from silver surfaces.

An Air Force intelligence officer said: “We can only assume the objects are some form of physical phenomena for which we have no explanation.”
