REVOLUTION IN HUNGARY

Common oration In Auckland

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 3.

In a short stirring ceremony at Albert park, Auckland, today, about 120 Hungarian refugees commemorated the Hungarian uprising of a year ago and the deaths of the freedom fighters in that country. The gathering was addressed by Mr Otto Kemenes, a member of the committee of the Auckland Hungarian Club, Sir William Jordan, former New Zealand High Commissioner in London, and Mr R. A. Watson, chairman of the Red Cross Society in Auckland. Later, a wreath was placed in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cathedral and a short prayer in remembrance of the fallen fighters was said.
