The Most Rev. E. M. Joyce, Roman Catholic Bishop of Christchurch, left this morning for South Westland. Bishop Joyce will administer the sacrament of confirmation at Ross. Hari Hari. Jacob’s River and Okura. He is accompanied by Father F. Kelly, of Temuka. and the Rev. Dr. O. Snedden. of Auckland, editor of ‘ ‘Zealandia.”
Mr L. C. Hansen, controller of the Stores Division of the Treasury and Secretary to the Government Stores Board, has been appointed Secretary for Police to replace Mr A. N. V. Dobbs, who, after a special course in England, will become Army Secretary.—(P.A.)
