Butter Dumping In Britain
(Rec. 7 p.m.) ROME. Nov. 1. New Zealand would raise the question of the alleged dumping of butter on the British market during trade talks in London at the end of next month, the British United Press said. The head of the New Zealand delegation to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation meeting in Rome. Mr R. B. Tennent, said yesterday that the matter had been mentioned during the conference. “We named no nations and made no charges against anybody in particular.” Mr Tennent said. “We merely made bare mention of consistent dumping of foreign-made butter on the British market.” he said. The system was of great concern to New Zealand because it caused the butter price to drop from 320 s a cwt to 2705.
